A grim journey through the lives of Australians having a bad time. Each story was another gut-wrenching account of misery. Extremely well-written, with charming descriptions and fascinating characters in interesting (if sad) situations. A reflection on loss and lack in it’s many forms.

I’ve read majority of these before, but the new short stories were quite good. Seventy-Two Derwents, Waiting, and Laminex and Mirrors are my favourites.
