i got this book because i love the series and wanted to see how different it was.
i’m not one for reading comics but i did find this easier.
overall it’s pretty good but because it’s only the first one in the series i don’t want to make any assumptions

I’ve already watched a good portion of the show, but I wanted to see what the books are like. The art style is good, and while

there are a few characters that don’t exist in the book that do exist in the show and vice versa, or the fact that Shane dies at the very end compared to around season 3,

I like how fast paced it is. It’s very parallel to the changes of human behavior and patterns that they have to inevitably go through, which is interesting in and of itself. I would’ve liked there to be no mention of the word ‘zombies’ (since that kept an unsettling and uncomfortable air in the show), but that’s really it.

“Sabes… esa es una buena idea. Hablar del día más feliz de mi vida seguramente alejará mi mente de toda esta mierda demencial que vi recientemente.

Acababa de ir al trabajo esa mañana. Estaba sentado en la estación bebiendo mi segunda taza de café del día. Gilroy estaba contándome del borracho que trajeron la noche anterior… entonces llegó la llamada. Era mi esposa, Lori, había roto bolsa a los diez minutos de que me fui, tomé mi abrigo y corrí a casa. Le dije a Gilroy que llame al doctor Stevens para que nos encuentre en el hospital. La llevé al hospital en tiempo récord. Una de las pocas veces que tuve que usar las sirenas de mi coche… Vivíamos en una pequeña ciudad.

Sostuve su mano todo el tiempo. Hubo algunas complicaciones… tuvieron que hacerle una cesárea. Yo estuve realmente preocupado… pero todo salió bien.

Mucho no tengo que decir, esta es una de las mejores historias que leí en su momento, y estoy decidida a terminarla ahora que puedo comprarme toda la colección. Siempre me gustó la idea de ver cómo sería un apocalipsis desde el punto de vista de las personas normales y en este cómic alcanza perfectamente ese sentimiento. Porque sí, una chica de trece años con hiperfijación en los muertos vivos también quería imaginar que podía ser la protagonista del fin del mundo sin tener que ser militar o experta en artes marciales.

Being a huge fan of the show I felt it was time to finally read the original source material...

I have to say this first volume gives us a lot about what's happening and who's all there but I didn't feel like I was able to form any emotional attachments within this volume. Really not even Rick, who I LOVE on the show, was someone I found myself actually caring about in this first volume. I'm glad that the show was able to dig a bit deeper and flesh the characters out more...so within the first few episodes of the show, I got those emotional attachments.

Still looking forward to reading the rest of the volumes and seeing what all is different between the comic and the show.
