It was a fun, quick read.

I enjoyed it, but it also felt a bit fluffy. Like the danger never really felt that bad.

Maybe it was because everything felt like it happened too fast, we never really had time to get to know the characters in a way that made me care one way or the other for the outcome.

I like the romance, but I would have liked more time spent on it. Again, this storyline felt rushed.

I am giving 4 stars because despite what I listed above,I did enjoy reading this. I just wished for more.

Thank you to Kat Kinney for allowing me to listen to a copy of this book. I loved this book, even though I read Fallen first. I loved seeing how Lucien was introduced and how Gwyn and Asher had gotten to where they are. I loved the story and I loved learning more about Everwood Falls. This book just grabbed me and dragged me into this world and I can't wait to read more from Kat Kinney and from this world. I highly recommend this series.

I very much got a Mystic Falls feel (TVD), but not a high school version like that TV show. Not spicy adult either, but general adult audience. Oh yeah, and with dragons. Did I mention people can shape shift in dragons? Mind blown. Super fun. Dragons are people too lol ..

This is paranormal romance cozy mystery at its finest! From the quirky characters you can’t help but love down to the mystery twists you don’t see coming!

Gwyn is fleeing from her ex and runs straight into Asher and Daisy while setting up her new life. Being a Fire Captain (and a fae with fire gifts!) Asher is immediately drawn to the dragon once he knows Daisy is safe. Their dynamic felt comfortable and the ending was so satisfying!

I was immediately drawn into the world building she set up with this new cast as I often am with her books. The charming details down to even the way they adorably fight over toasting marshmallows make it so that I feel like I truly get to know the whole cast.

I am already ready for the next one because I need to know more about Norah, Lucien, Sage, and Ember!

Light My Pyre is a paranormal mystery where supernatural outcasts like fae, dragon shapeshifters, fallen angels, vampires, and werewolves try to coexist. It's a great cozy mystery romance with dashes of paranormal elements. Unlike most dragon shifter stories, I loved that the female MC was a dragon. The description of Everwood Falls was really lovely. I loved the multiple plot twists. I'm ready for book two!

Such a fun paranormal book with fae, vampires, werewolves, dragons, demons and more. It kept me guessing until the very end! I really enjoyed the relationship between Asher and his dog, it reminded me of my dog and made me giggle. The author did a great job creating a fantasy world within our real world. I definitely recommend it.

I thought this book would be a basic paranormal romance. (Not that there is anything wrong with that!) I was wrong, and in a good way.

The plot is very well done. The story is clear and easy to follow. All through the book, the reader thinks they know what is going on. And then - PLOT TWIST!! Although the twist seems to come out of nowhere, the hints are there all along. Even the plot twist flows well.

The setting feels like a real place. The author does a great job with world-building and I really felt like if I went to Colorado, I could stumble across the town.

The characters are amazing! I really felt like they were real people. The author does a great job of character development and growth. They all have real personalities and their emotions come through.
