It’s a nice story. Yes, it’s brief and plainly informative, but it’s a must read for fans of Cthulhu Mythos. Also there is a little bit of cosmic horror and some сool Lovecraftian easter eggs.

A brief history of the allegedly fictitious Necronomicon. Of most interest were the (unsurprising) links to Salem and The King and Yellow. Definitely a springboard for further research, just not particularly useful or interesting as it stands.

A concise history of Lovecraft's fictional book the Necronomicon. Made to exclusively suppliment the references of the text within the main stories.

Reading leads to terrible consequences.

Doesn't it though? This is really just a fragment, unfortunately. Love that Lovecraft can't resist tying "The King in Yellow" into his own universe. Favorite fact: the Necronomicon was originally titled The Howling of Demons.

(Unrelated: Sorry about the deluge of Lovecraft. I'm out of room under the anthology and I seem to have hit a run of fragments by publishing order. If I don't rate and review as I go, I won't remember them, and I am so not rereading any of his work, at least so far.)
