2020 review:
the usual - reread this so i could listen to the famous five podcast with the story fresh in mind. i think julian is just absolutely hilarious in this, but listening to the podcast definitelt made me aware of class issues in this that i did not consider, namely that julian is so rude to these people and can be rude to them because they're essentially servants and are being "put in their place" (ew), but he would never be rude to mr. roland in the previous book, who is also awful to them, because mr. roland is educated and of an higher class, and that makes me like the book a lot less.

Childishly amazing as usual. I can never grow bored with Enid Blyton's works!

While at school, famous five was my most favourite series. I used to borrow them from the school library and read them again and again. These books were always in demand. They are still my most favourite series and they will always be.

Those Sticks reminded me of the Malfoys. Edgar is literary Draco.

Of the books I've read so far, this book is my favorite so far. The story is excellently written and well thought out.
Moderate: Kidnapping

Bedtime story read to 9-year-old. Read about 1 chapter or maybe 2 chapters a night.
