I really loved this book. I'll admit I had my doubts about it. Sex and cancer? It seemed like a strange combination, but it totally worked. This book is emotional and romantic. The sex scenes were written good and that's not as easy as it may seem. I look forward to the sequel!

“Promise you’ll never let go of my hand?”
He kissed her. It was the easiest vow he’d ever made. “Promise.”

I read it in a few hours, so it was a quick and short read. I wouldn't have minded if it were a bit longer, but it was good. I'm a sucker for happy endings, so this book is perfect for me when it comes to that.

“I look at my future and all I see is you.”

The flashback were cute. It was nice to read how the relationship between Robbie and Zoey started and grew. I'll end this review with a few sentences from the song that inspired the title:

And the tears come streaming down your face
When you lose something you can't replace
When you love someone but it goes to waste
Could it be worse
Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you.

And because I love the song, I will post two YouTube links. One for the original Coldplay version and one for the Glee version, which I really love.

Fix you - Coldplay version
Fix you - Glee cast version

A promise 25 years in the making between Robbie and Zoey, a horrible situation and a group of girlfriends who you would just love to have in your life, make this novella a lovely, heart warming read❤️

Super CUTESY story, Friends to Roommates to Lovers, You are taken through Zoey's challenges with her emotions battling Breast Cancer and her feelings for her Best Friend, Rob (rock n' roll musician and bestie). Very much a RomCom/Hallmark vibe to it!

I liked it, solid-good read!

I almost DNFed at 40% when I found that I just did not care what happened to Zoey.

Poignant and joyful

Anytime the big “C” is portrayed I have a hard time with it. This storyline actually handles it quite well, skimming over what can be a total nightmare, yet still showing the strength Zoey has as well as Rob. Their blooming love story is sweet, smoking, angsty to the max, and always hopeful.

Reading about something as powerful as someone's fight with cancer is always powerful and moves you. And this book isn't just a story about a woman fighting cancer, but it's also about love, family and friendship.
