A collection of short stories, some great and some not. Amazing to see the bits and pieces that have been lifted to be placed in movies.

In my opinion, the short story From a View To a Kill is the best of Fleming's Bond stories.

A mixed bunch. I had great fun with From a View to Kill and Quantum of Solace was a fair attempt at a level of introspection which is not common for a Bond story. The other three were less of a success to me, although seeing Bond 'off duty' in some moments is always interesting to me.

A somewhat unsatisfactory addition to the range of books.
It's essentially a collection of short stories. I quite like the first one "With A View To A Kill" (which does not resemble the movie apart from the fact that there are scenes set in Paris!) and the second, but the middle one is literally on bloke telling Bond about a girl who messed her husband around so much that he divorced her and deliberately stitched her up with some debts. And that little tale was called "Quantum Of Solace!"
None of the stories are that meaty, i definitely prefer the Bond books that tell one longer story.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 27.11.23
This is one of those rare occasions where I wonder what I was thinking when I wrote the previous review! I agree that the longer stories are better, but all of these tales are interesting, indeed the 4th has enough content to easily get fleshed out to a full movie. And I even enjoyed the story I loathed last time, “Quantum Of Solace.”

(Re-read). Some fun short stories. The better of the two collections, although I prefer the novels. The hidden spies in the forest clearing is a great invention though, and the characters in the story of the Bermuda civil servant's failed marriage are compelling, interesting and well sketched
