Fantastic continuation of the Kane Chronicles. I am enjoying the ties to Egyptian mythology. So many new things to look up and research afterwards. It's a wonderful series for me kids since they learn song the way. I listened to this book as well as the first. The man reading for Carter did great, he did different voices for all the characters, just as well as his performance in the first book. The woman reading for Sadie wasn't as good, still no difference in voices for different characters. Maybe the next book will have a different woman read the part of Sadie. We enjoyed the story so much that we immediately began the next book. I look forward to the conclusion.

A fun and entertaining read, but the "romance" annoyed me a little. One of the characters is more  concerned over what boy to like than the fact she might die/the world might end... I just find that a bit silly. It's excused because it's behavior for the stereotypical "teenage girl", which I disagree with stereotyping characters because it rarely adds value to the story.
