Another brilliant book by Angela Marsons.
I love the DI Kim Stone books the story lines have you gripped from the very first page to the last and this one did not disappoint. With each book you become more invested in the characters, you feel like you know them personally this is testament to Angela Marsons brilliant style of writing.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Each time I read a new Kim Stone book, I expect that it may be the one to disappoint me. Every series has at least one! So far, I've loved every single one of the books in the series, and this one was no exception!
We find Kim Stone with her normal team investigating a crazy weird (and grotesque) murder using a torture method. The victim's family is clearly hiding something, and then they disappear. As DI Stone and the team are trying to find the family, another body in a different jurisdiction turns up. And then another. They have to unravel what is going on to find a very depraved murdered.
There is a second plot string involving Frost using her position as an investigative journalist to try to overcome the PR machine that has wound up behind a man on trial for murdering his wife. There was a hung jury in the first trial, and Frost is concerned that he'll get away with it, so she works against long odds and lots of danger to bring the victim and what happened to her to life for the readers.
Solid story, fast-paced, and suspenseful. I love the continued character development, especially with Kim and Stacey. I'd love to see a little more about Penn in the next one.

I admire how the author is able to keep things fresh with the regular characters, balanced with a mind boggling crime in each book of the series. This one was another gripping read!

Angela Marsons is not the queen of crime thrillers. She is the jack, queen, king and ace of crime fiction. Not many authors can take their book series into double digits, but in Angela Marson's case I wouldn't mind if the series hits triple digits. What seems impossible is that one of the greatest characters of all times, Kim Stone, keeps on developing and growing.
The book itself is a classic Marsons. It keeps on delivering, and you can't stop reading it until the fantastic ending. The excellent slow-giving cliffhanger att the end means the next book will be something to look forward to in a way a child looks forward to Christmas day.
The main problem for a reviewer is that you don't want to give anything away from the story, because it is a masterpiece in itself, and you don't want to ruin even a teeny tiny bit of it by trying to explain it to potential readers. You don't want to ruin the read for the lucky soul who hasn't read it, and you don't want to butcher the story, because you know you can't write about it anywhere close to the way the author flawlessly puts the words on paper.
Another mesmerizing and riveting read! I find it insulting to even rate it giving between one to five stars, because how many stars should you give to the sun? This astonishing author's author never fails, and you just keep on yearning for more. Yes, please, I am ready.

Angela Marsons does not disappoint in the the next book in the DI Kim Stone series. Twisted Lies sped along at a rapid pace as the team tried to track down the killer responsible for horrific deaths. Frost, Kim's favourite reporter, is forced to reassess her opinion of Kim and vice versa. A great read with such great characters and of course, Barney the dog.

Gripping, as always. I so enjoy the primary characters and look forward to each new book which is like visiting with dear friends. I’d love to see the book series adapted for movies or a mini-series.

Twisted Lies brings about the case of two victims, with no apparent link at first, while Kim and her team discover that a secret that was buried deep is coming into play. Tracy Frost, a reporter that Kim initially despised, has information involving the previous murder of a woman. Kim is none too pleased that her boss insists she work with Tracy on this newest case. Kim really has her hands full this time around with another book full of shocking twists. In fact, each and every book is as or more thrilling that the previous book.
