this very much reads like a wattpad book, which is not a bad thing at all! i enjoy wattpad books a lot, im not a huge fan of abo verse books, but i don’t really mind this one much. it was a fun read with cool world building. did not love that pretty much all the women are haters lol. sadie is a great fmc, she’s powerful, strong, funny, but still flawed. not much chemistry between her and the 3 fmcs but it is a slow burn, really liked the mlm rep.

I can’t with the omegaverse anymore. Serieux its just a disappointment à chaque fois.

Why was I interessed in this book? pcq la FMC était torturée et mystérieuse. Like. My FYP disappointed yet again.

- FMC: Sadie

SUMMARY: (SPOILER WARNING)

In a realm where you are either a null
shifter (no powers), beta, alpha, or rare omega, Sadie is pretty sure she’s a null. She won’t find out for sure until her twentieth birthday (which is soon) when the special lake will reveal what she is.

So she’s quite surprised when her designation comes back as alpha — especially considering there are NO female alphas…like at all.

After a lifetime of abuse at the hands of a violent man, she is now whisked away to a war camp where she will help other alphas protect their realm from the dangerous fae who threaten to invade.

But she doesn’t expect the three alpha men she is rooming with to be so intriguing. Infuriating, yes. But also intriguing.

And there’s more going on than meets the eye. So not only does she have to adjust to her new status, she also has to navigate new (and old) enemies who are out to get her.

REVIEW:

I bounced between four and five and stars for this one. So I’m gonna settle on 4.5 stars. It’s quite an interesting and captivating world, more fantasy-like than paranormal because it’s a whole other realm. Interesting and different take on Omegaverse.

I liked Sadie a lot. Her character is strong, but also flawed. I liked seeing her already grow in this first book.

The guys are a mixed bag. I loved Jax. Perfect alpha male in my opinion. Cobra is very damaged, but I liked him more as the book progressed. I also love that one of his little shadow snakes decided to linger with Sadie. So cute! I wonder if he knows? Ascher was the hardest for me to like. Even before we find out he betrayed them (for an unknown reason at this point), he is the manslut of the group. Sometimes I like those types, but in this case he was a little much. He didn’t even really begin to reform his ways yet, which sat wrong with me.

I’m not sure I feel a whole lot between them all yet. Between Jax and Cobra? Absolutely! They’re hot. But between Sadie and each of them? Debatable. We will see how it evolves in the future books but right now it’s not the strongest connection or attraction. It’s there, but not super intense.

What I loved about this book though was that it was fast paced and takes place in a really fascinating world. The plot is intriguing. And the characters and their relationships have promise. I was glued to the pages, which is always a plus for me.

Overall it was a great first in series! Maybe not perfect, but very good! I feel super betrayed and mad about what Ascher did, but curious about his reasons as he thinks they are “for their good”. We will see…
