Nice one! Nice story, funny, engaging. It seemed like I was seeing one of the cool episodes of the TV show.

I have to say I very much enjoyed the majority of the story of this book and would have scored it higher if I hadn’t developed a bit of a dislike for the main character. She was more like an immature teenager rather than a professional adult. The simpering over two men was rather cringy in a grown woman, and I couldn’t understand the constant guilt she felt over something that was completely out of her control. And despite enjoying the actual storyline, I found the end to not really be too cohesive. Despite all that, I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys the genre, as it was overall a good read.

Like 3.5 really. The plot of this one was def pretty predictable. Love to see the Andy and Tempe plot continue however do not want this love triangle to be a continued thing...... the audiobook I listened to from the library was really messed up which made the listening experience not as good as the others. I do think the plot was pretty interesting but the constant tie back to Canada or NC is always just so weird.

This might be my favorite book yet in this series. I love the change of location to Guatemala. This book kept me engaged throughout and not wanting to put it down!

Ooops. I've read these out of order - there's not been any major plot points from the last book revealed which is just as well.

Set mainly in Guatemala this was an interesting look at the more traditional aspect of a forensic anthropologist.

This was your basic crime/murder mystery novel. It wasn't stellar, the plot didn't really surprise me all that much - even with its twists and turns. The writing didn't seem all that exceptional either - though my opinion of this may have been influenced by the fact that I was listening to it on CD. As a fan of the show, Bones, I really wanted to check out this series and see how it compares. I can't decide which Temperance Brennan I like better. I think the redeeming qualities for me were the historical background and scientific references. 1980's Guatemala is unknown to me - and it was a shock to learn of the atrocities carried out against the indigenous peoples.
