Definitely veering on a 3 1/2 to 4 stars rating. Once I got past the first 50 pages and a lot of entertaining cliches, I really enjoyed the book. Especially seeing Aisling go from what she thinks she should want and have, to what she actually wants in her life. And yes, with the cliches and Aisling-isms I found myself nodding in agreement at a lot of them. Definitely the kind of book that brings you away from reality when reading while enjoying all the many quirks that a lot of Irish people can have. Looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

Protagonist is just too insufferable.

2 and half stars ? somewhere around there? my brother got me this book ages ago for my birthday because obviously why would i not deserve a book centred around a fellow aisling. it was a fun and quick and surprisingly emotional read but nothing to write home about. the plot wasn’t like !wow! and the characters and relationships were fine but could’ve been explored a little more deeply. don’t think i’ll read any more of the series but it was fine - although slightly too many weight watchers references for me.
