“Have you ever met someone who feels like they are a missing piece of you ?” I ask. “A piece you didn’t even know you were missing until they stumbled into your life?”

This is the 6th book in the Perfectly Imperfect series
And it was so close to the perfection of Painted Scars (still my favorite in the series)
But it was Damn heart wrenching and warming at the same time with beautiful writing

First, this is not a typical Mafia Romance as Neva points out at the beginning of the book. It is more on the Drama Romance than Mafia.
And as always, mind ⛔⛔ the trigger warnings⛔⛔

Second, The thing that I liked about this book is that some of the hated tropes in romances really work here

1- the age gap: I found it necessary in the situation of Asya. No 18 or 20 something boy would have been able to be patient or handle her traumatic meltdown

“You're eighteen, Asya. He’s fifteen years older than you!”“Yes. And I’ve gone through tough times most people don’t ever experience,” I bite out. “I think I’ve earned the right to make decisions for myself.”<\b>

2- I can fix him/her: this was more like "he is broken, she is broken" so let's be perfectly imperfect broken together

Both my soul and my mind . . . fractured. Pasha pieced me back together. And my heart yearns for him because he is the glue that keeps all my broken parts whole.<\b>

Third, this book felt like talking to me. Like I was really having a conversation with it
"why didn't she want to go to her family"?
Here is the answer

"why was he attached to her?". Oh! The answer is in the next page

"does she really love him or was it a hero complex?" Ah! I see

Fourth (I feel like I am writing an essay, bare with me) I kind of learned some of ways a person with severe trauma would act. Not everyone responds the same. And I researched the way Asya was acting and found that many behave the same way

Finally, as much as I loved Pasha and his dedication to Asya, it was Asya who captured my heart.
She went through something all women(and men) pray day and night never to go through. A situation that could send a weaker soul to the brink of killing themselves
But she didn't. And even though she saw herself weak for not defending herself, she was the one who saved herself multiple times. And she was the one who pulled up Pasha from the abyss of dispaire

I cannot wait for the next book in the series

Oh gosh. How I missed Neva Altaj. It definitely was the longest I went without reading any of her books since I discovered her last summer, and I seriously missed her stories so much.
(me waiting for the next book)

*Make sure to check triggers warning before picking this one as the subject is darker than her other books.

MY REVIEW - First of all, let me just say that my heart was so full at seeing many of the characters from previous books do small apparitions in that one! It just was a nice thing to have them there and get little peeks into their lives later on. I am well known for my bad memory so you won't be surprised when I say that I couldn’t remember Pavel that much from previous books though... but I enjoyed getting to know him in this one! Both characters were so damn precious, I have no words to express my love for them. I really enjoyed seeing their relationship grow. There were so many heartbreaking scenes, so precious, so beautiful. Asya and Pasha are undoubtedly made for each other. I read this book in one sitting and by the end I was so invested in the story I was gasping out loud when stuff happened. I was like OH SHIT :O OH SHIIIIIT :O Even though this book has some heavy topics and was more character driven, Neva Altaj did a perfect job with it. Before I could tell, the book was over and I wanted to cry.

These books are an addiction honestly...
