My heart. This one just really, really worked for me!! Tarah Dewitt tells this story with such candor, emotional intelligence, and humor that truly brings warmth to my soul. And the Deaf inclusion in this book was portrayed so beautifully!
Tropes: Single dad, age gap (10ish years), friends to lovers, found family
What I loved:
•The alternating perspectives and timelines was SO perfect for this story. It brought the needed tension and context, and wow - it was so well done.
•The emotional maturity of the characters and the evolving relationship was so refreshing and a delight to read.
•All of the comedy club scenes

This was CUTE! What is probably actually a three star read gets a bump from me, simply because I’m a sucker for friends to lovers. Seriously, you can’t go wrong with friends to lovers, y’all. This is sweet and the ASL representation was a sweet touch. Great kindle unlimited read.

Farley is a hopeful comedian and has, Meyer, a grumpy (former comedian) single dad, as a manager. An amazing career opportunity comes up and Farley needs a little PR help in the form of a fake relationship and Meyer volunteers.
this book has all my fav tropes… I was so nervous that it would feel forced with both main characters being comedians. But thankfully, while there were bits, you never had to sit through an actual standup set. I appreciated the adult tones, well, dealing with the premise of some things as “funny” as comedians falling in love.
I was also really impressed by how pro-therapy the book was. I’m all for adults being adults and doing adult things! I never felt like the characters were immature!

This book was very enjoyable. The main character was relatable for me in more ways than one. It was refreshing to read something funny.

Mooi, grappig en oprecht. Dewitt kan een goede romance schrijven en het ondertussen over andere dingen hebben die ertoe doen.
