A great book that takes place at the Jersey Shore. Sort of. We had to explain to the kids what camera film was, which made the whole thing feel a little sad (can the story go on if you can't get film developed anymore?)

wonderful book with no words. Pictures are great and make it easy for the child to tell you the story.

What a unique picture book! I loved it! A camera washes up on shore... an underwater camera! When the film is developed you're placed in a fantastic underwater world where starfish host islands on their back, and green aliens live in shells encrusted on the backs of sea turtles. I will definitely be purchasing this for my (future) child.

A boy finds a camera washed up on the beach. When he develops the film he finds inside, he is able to see amazing scenes of a fantastical underwater world. He also discovers he's not the first child to be part of the camera's history.
One of my favorites. The artwork is complex and wonderful. The kids are fascinated by the whole concept, and are especially intrigued by the series of "photos" that links the story to the past. Though the book is wordless and the artwork is detailed, the book works well as a read-aloud. Even better, though, is small group viewing, so that kids can see the details up close.

مثير للاهتمام جدًا، والنهاية ظريفة، لكن أتمنى لو كانت القصة مفهومة أكثر.

I picked this book up at the library book sale, intending to donate it to a free little library. The pictures were beautiful. But the dedication was what won me over "for my family and all our years down the shore." This book did a beautiful job of capturing my own childhood recollections of summers spent down the shore.

David Wiesner is obviously a master of wordless books. The illustrations were very detailed and imaginative. There was a nice connection to photography, and a lot of questions would be brought up.
