It’s summer in Boulder in Till Death Do Us Port, the fourth book in the Colorado Wine Mystery Series. Parker is setting out her wine for her cousin’s wedding when the fussy wedding planner is murdered. I love the humor and wine metaphors and the zany wedding party including Clyde the furry cat. Summer is my favorite season in the Rockies and we get to see beautiful scenery as Parker, along with her friends and family, explore the Boulder area (and Red Rocks!) while investigating the murder. This is one of my favorite books of the year.

As a Colorado native, I always love a cozy that takes place in my home state and the references to places I know, like Red Rocks and Union Station. While I think the characters are well developed, the dialogue (particularly Sage’s) can grate on me, not sounding how people really talk with stilted references and awkward jargon. However, it was a compelling mystery, a good cast of characters, and I learned a bit about wine making.
