This has been one play I have been dying to read! Loved the classic film and loved the play even more! While reading this it was full of laughter and tears! Would definitely recommend to anyone who has seen the film. Plus, the read is super short, so one could finish it around a hour or so, if not less.

Hilarious, though tinged with sadness. Very strong female characters with sass and grit.

Steel Magnolias is a very picturesque portal of the South. I've heard the film version described as a complete tear jerker, a definite chick-flick. When the big tragedy is reveal, I felt unimpressed. It felt like such a mild way to excuse a character out of the rest of the play.
