4 hrs, cute forced proximity but felt a bit rushed at the end. Wished for more

I'm so happy I discovered Susannah Nix this year. Each of her books has brought me joy in a different way, and this was one was no exception. I liked the slow burn of the first 60% more than the rest, but that's just me.

This is my first book by the author, Alice and Griffin story celebrity romance is not the regular romance I expected to be, but I truly enjoyed it. The story presented the other side of being a celebrity, all the struggles. It is a slow burn, it had a funny side and angst well balanced. One of the main topics is sexual harassment, which the author presented in a very realistic way, so kudos to Nix.

I fell easily into this one, but a bit past the halfway mark, I would myself falling a bit out of it. I grew frustrated and annoyed, and lost some enjoyment for the story. Nevertheless, I was pretty engaged throughout. I loved the chemistry between the leads, and the time and care the author took into developing their romance. The care put into it was especially appreciated considering Alice’s personal arc dealing with past sexual harassment. Which is why it’s a bit of a shame how the way I felt rather frustrated towards the end of the book with the romantic plot. I still believed it in and really loved the development otherwise.
The stars did not quite align as a whole, but I still had a very good time. I’m glad I read this one!
I’m very much looking forward to the author’s next release in this series.

Annnnd Susannah Nix delivers again with, awesome characters, a favorite trope and some steamy sex.
Alice and Griffin are so cute together you just can’t help but get mad at them when they can’t see it for them selfs! Alice is still f*ed up from some sexual harassment from a professor, working as an extra on a medical drama when she finds herself in need of a new home, job and a quite place to heal and move on. Enter Griffen the star of the show and a sweet former cinnamon roll in need to a dog/house sitter. Once Alice is moved in and making Griffen question all his play boy ways things really start to get interesting!
The burn is slow with this one but the sex is steamy! No fade to black in this one!
The only problem I had with this book was the resolution to our couples problems was a bit rushed and glassed over. Don’t get me wrong though I’m happy with the HEA.
As Always I love Susannah and will read what ever she writes, looking forward to “Fallen Star” the 2nd in the series and hopefully and 3 book soon!
