They breakout by pretending the boy is dead. He has trouble adjusting to the outside.

I wish I could rate it higher. I came here from the movie and the book BLEW me away. Phenomenal. Such an interesting perspective from which to tell this tale.

I genuinely cannot get through the child’s perspective of this dammed situation. The innocence paired with the severity is uncanny. It triggers my own traumas in ways I can’t really understand. All I know is that I’m very uncomfortable
