Man this book was dense and difficult to get through. It's my first book on communism, so I suppose the second will be easier. Still I was irritated at the author for using esoteric (oh, the hypocrisy) language when much simpler language would have sufficed. Many of the arguments made were of the playground variety, "so what if it's true!"

pretty good book in understanding the history surrounding the communist manifesto, and also goes into the many fundamental ideas of the text. china's writing style can get pretty verbose and sentences can get pretty convoluted, but i think it adds a literary flair to the history.

"DNF" isn't really a fair descriptor for "Sat down to read a theory book cover to cover and realized it's meant to be used more as a reference-slash-commentary on specific aspects of the Manifesto."
What's in here is great, don't get me wrong, just not the kind of book you "read." Or at least that I do.
