Great story with some fantastic artwork by Nick Derington. The writing was trying to be a bit too quip-ey at times, but the ending tied it all up into a great self-contained time-space adventure.

There's a metric boatload of cameos in this, which I did need to google up on, but the ride made up for it.

Its been a decade since Bendis' heyday and I've long since grown tired of his dialogue. Unfortunately. Every character speaks with the exact same voice and rhythm. It's especially jarring when that character is Batman, whose voice is so singular.

Regardless, Nick Derington's art is stunning and Bendis' story gives him a lot to do. It's not a great Batman story. It's not a great story of any kind - rote dialogue, poor characterizations, zero subtext, middling plot. BUT it was a fun kitschy, colorful super-hero comic book to read with a lot of cute cameos and interesting settings.

What a fantastic book now if it says Batman on the cover, but it’s really Brian Michael Bendis is using Batman and a McGuffin to explore the DC universe with a lot of character showing up from green lantern, green arrow, Jonah hex. I love how each issue is so distinctively different One issue is a western another is a trip to gorilla city or a dinosaur island just a fantastical nature of the story makes it fun. I like how Bendis writes Batman he’s not just grim he’s still Batman, but he can be lighthearted at times. The artwork also by Nick Darrington is excellent just a fun romp around the DC universe. Highly recommend

This was...surprisingly amazing.

I'm not a huge fan of Bendis (not that I dislike him at all, but I haven't read much by him and don't have a strong opinion one way or anther), and I was a little wary of a joke-filled Batman book, but it ended up being quite perfect.

I really enjoyed how the story progressed, allowing us to view Batman in different parts of his, well, universe, if you will.

Such a fun read!

A quick, surprisingly campy jaunt through Batman’s history. Bendis and Derington capture the toybox-like glee of old school comics adventures in a fast-paced caper that finds Batman chasing an immortal thief with a deadly artifact. The fast pace makes some of the twists come and go too fast to land, but overall this was plenty charming.

This was so fun omg!

I loved this one! Its pretty much Batman after a faberge egg which Vandal savage also wants and well its Batman vs him across time and space and we see Bruce going after riddler first, then teaming with Green Arrow and then the thing with Hal as they travel to Dinosaur island then in the past to team up with Jonax hex and also Batman goes to Thanagar and Gorilla city which was crazy and fun and his battle with Savage there was so good omg! Plus his team-up with Hal is one of my faves here! (Hal is my fav so :) ) and well then finally in the present its Bruce vs Savage and maybe a certain unique ring and the secrets of the faberge egg are revealed here!

Its a roller coaster of fun ride and we need more comics like this and its so fun, Bruce on fun adventures teaming with the DCU characters and I love Dragotta's art here, its so good and unique and really makes for a terrific read. It compliments Bendis zany dialogues and hilarious moments and yep its very light-hearted and I will recommend it to anybody who just wants to have a fun evening read!
