This book isn’t gonna be for everyone, it’s very much about a toxic, violent relationship. That being said, it’s a novel, and novels exist to allow us to explore dynamics we would never want in real life, and at no point does the author imply their relationship is good or healthy (just that it’s hot, and I don’t disagree!) I was on the edge of my seat the entire time, this book just pressed all of my buttons in a good way. I read the entire thing in one sitting.

The plot is kind of derivative (it’s VERY similar to ACOTAR) but the book is so well written and well paced that I didn’t really mind. That being said, if within the first 150 pages you’re not into their sexual/romantic dynamic (very mob boss?) then you’re definitely not going to like this series, as it really escalates throughout the books. For some people, this will be the hottest book you read all year (..me) and for some people, the relationship will be so off putting they just can’t get into it, and both are ok! This is a polarizing story I think.
