gods i love apollo so much i really hope he gets hos godhood back and is the best god around actually caring about mortals. can't believe uncle rick did _THAT_. Really hope Piper gets to find herself and turns out to be sapphic. I'm really enjoying Apollo and Meg's relationship, she's a fun character for sure.

"The Burning Maze" by Rick Riordan takes readers on a thrilling and emotional journey through the third installment of "The Trials of Apollo" series. As a devoted fan of Riordan's works, I must admit that this book left me grappling with a mix of emotions, particularly sadness for Jason's situation, yet still enamored with the captivating storytelling.

The novel opens with a sense of anticipation as Apollo, now in the form of a mortal named Lester, embarks on yet another perilous quest to free the godly Oracles. However, the news of Jason's fate hit me like a gut-punch. The loss of such a beloved character was unexpected and deeply saddening. The rawness of grief portrayed by the remaining characters made the narrative all the more poignant, reminding readers that even in the fantastical world of gods and monsters, real emotions and consequences are at play.

Amidst the sadness, Riordan masterfully weaves a tale filled with excitement and twists. The action-packed journey takes us through intricate labyrinths, treacherous battles, and heartwarming encounters with familiar faces from the Percy Jackson universe. As always, the author's seamless blend of mythology, humor, and modern references is nothing short of genius, keeping the pages turning with an insatiable thirst for more.

Apollo's character development is another aspect that shines in this installment. Witnessing the former god grapple with his newfound humanity while facing the challenges thrown his way adds a layer of depth to his persona. His moments of vulnerability and growth make him all the more endearing, and readers can't help but cheer for him in his quest for redemption.

Despite the sadness that lingers throughout the book, it is a testament to Riordan's storytelling prowess that I found myself immersed in the story, cherishing the camaraderie among the characters, and eagerly anticipating the next adventure. The unexpected emotional rollercoaster and the author's ability to capture a wide range of feelings are what make this installment stand out among the others.

In conclusion, "The Burning Maze" tugs at the heartstrings with the loss of Jason, but still manages to captivate readers with its thrilling narrative and well-crafted characters. As a devoted fan, I must say that while my heart may be heavy, I remain wholeheartedly invested in Apollo's journey and eagerly await the next installment in this riveting series. Riordan's ability to evoke genuine emotions in his readers truly showcases the magic of storytelling at its finest.
