A story about choosing what you want to be, not what others say you must, centered around the Jewish holiday of Purim and the tradition of dressing in costumes to celebrate. The GLBTQ part is only noticeable in the children have two dads.

The Purim Superhero is one of few picture books I've encountered that highlight the spring-time holiday. And it's sweet, following young Nate's journey to choosing a costume for the Purim festivities at synagogue. It also has a healthy message on inclusion.

yay for children's books where the kid has two dads and it's no big deal.
