This book has an interesting premise but took a VERY long time to reach the conclusion (was it even a conclusion?). I was so surprised when I found out this book is only 300 pages long, as I read it on Kindle, because it felt like a 500 pages book. The ending felt very rushed, it seems like at some point the author just got tired of writing and wanted to move on (the same way I got tired of the story and just wanted to rush through to the end).

I really enjoyed this book and was utterly hooked on the plot of it, trying to figure out who this mysterious woman is that just keeps disappearing, seemingly without a trace. Unfortunately, however, the ending was somewhat abrupt and left me with more questions than answers, hence the four stars. I also felt as though the author lost interest in her own novel by the end because the chapters in the later half kept getting shorter and shorter by the page, which came across as lazy. Overall still very good though and I do recommend reading it.

I liked the story, and the social commentary was educational (if a bit heavy handed). The writing was a little dry though, and almost felt tedious at times.

Interesting detective story set in Japan about the search for a missing fiancee who may not have been quite what she seemed. Nicely paced and thought out it has the added factor of family relationships and face involved when family asks for favours.

A good mystery, while not the best of its genre. It is an interesting mystery to read.

the book is paced well, although i feel like the author dwelled a little too long on certain parts. it was interesting to see how the pieces came together. the ending was not satisfying because we don’t get a ton of the answers we wanted.
