Two of my favorite creators joining together to create this novelization of the movie is just--*chef kiss* Guillermo del Toro's world with Cornelia Funke's writing--and the artwork! Just...oh my god. The only nitpick I have is that Funke wrote that the bottle broke during That Scene, where del Toro specifically mentions in interviews (and it's seen in the movie itself) that the bottle didn't break.
Moderate: Body horror, Child abuse, Child death, Death, Gore, Gun violence, Violence, Blood, Death of parent, and War
Minor: Vomit

This is one of my favorite movies so I was excited to see it in book form. Love the cover! It's dark and beautiful just like the film. This is a great companion novel.
