3 ⭐️ good premise, really choppy/disjointed. Enjoyed enough while I was reading it but had to force myself to keep picking it back up

Family secrets, betrayals, healing, forgiveness, relationships restored.

Nona left home 20 years ago and believing that her sister betrayed her. She has never been home or had any contact with her sister or father after. Her father's death finally brings her home.

The lead character was very annoying at times. Despite being successful, she is still stuck over what she assumed happened 20 years ago. There are some interesting characters and we get a little history thrown in to.

MOVING….

The way this book will move you! Sometimes it takes reading a book like this to understand just how important daily is….even when you’re mad at them.

⭐⭐⭐ -- Pretty cover!

This one was just okay for me. There was something about the writing that rubbed me the wrong way. I am also really not a fan of the whole "misunderstanding" trope, especially when a simple conversation would clear the air and there was SO much of that in this book that it got ridiculous. On the positive side, the author did a good job with the setting and descriptions of the different places.

If anyone in this book would sit down and speak to each other for five minutes, then there would have been next to no plot. I liked the premise of the book, but I found the execution lacking - too many plot points relied on people not ever being curious about one another. I can believe people would go 20 years without speaking, sure, but to believe that no one ever googled the others? Looked them up on Facebook or LinkedIn? That just seems too far-fetched. Combined with the amount of secrets everyone kept from each other without ever once slipping up, makes the plot a bit hard to believe.

The characters were solid and the idea behind the plot was cool - although I still feel like the first scene was a weird overreaction that should have been better explained, because while it was explained, I still don't get why it needed to be so dramatic.

I enjoyed this book way more than I expected to. Talk about family drama! I just wanted to hug these women so many times during this read. I’d definitely read again.
