I am not a master in the forte of BDSM novels. But I wanted to listen to this book out of curiosity. I found an intriguing magic realism take on the subject of power and BDSM. I like the neat take on erotic urban fantasy.
Well. You know that when you watch a movie and the subtitles leave in confusing cultural terms like honorifics and Japanese food items? I have felt like that when I had listened to the podiobook.
I didn't find the novel to be bad as. I wanted to test out my boundaries by trying out something that was pushing my boundaries. I am glad I gave the book a try.
The cliffhanger ending was unexpected, though. If there was a reason for it, I can empathize with the writer for their circumstances. But seriously, why a cliffhanger? I don't understand.
