I came across this book in the beginning or summer. But with final exams, I didn't get a chance to even click "buy" button. And only some days ago, when I was looking through my lists on Goodreads page, I came across it. I actually bought only 2 books, why? Because I forgot to see if there was a third one. So no I am waiting to get the third one. I know I am a real genius for that.
Even though I have this whole lot of author request books, also from NetGalley, and my own TBR books waiting to be read, I still began reading this one. I finished it in one day. And my reaction during and after I finished the book was : "AMAZING!!!..." The book is truly amazing and original. I liked Alyssa's style very much, it was easy to read and you really didn't want to put the book down. The only thing why I didn't start the second book right away was that I knew I had to write the review first in order to remember only first book feelings and I really wanted to sleep.
Allie is an amazing character, and you love her immediately. Her best friend Jess is what we call boy crazy, but when things go way south with Jared we get to know Jess's other side, which we also like. But the best character apart from Allie is of course Levi. He is self-confident, and in the beginning it's really annoying, but after 2-3 chapters you take Levi's side and urge Allie to be with him. But trust me you still will have moments when you will hate his guts. Unfortunately for us we don't get much of describtion of any character. We do know that Allie is 5.9 with long legs, dark hair and green eyes and that every man wants her. But that's all, I mean come on, that's it? And what about Levi? He is taller, way taller than 5.9 is athletically built and has gray-blue eyes. Oh he has wings too. But don't you dare think that he is an angel! Nope, you will know what he is as soon as you crack open your book, not really soon, but on 1/3 or much less. Trust me, you will be really amazed what he is. And that new world which Alyssa gave to us? Just amazing A+++ to it. Because it is not only original, but it is also well built, though I would have still wanted to know more. Guess I have something in common with Allie.
But I guess, To understand my excitement about the book, you should read it for yourself. And I don't think you'll be dissapointed. It has everything a teenage mind needs. So I do hope you are now considering reading it. So I will not prolong the waiting. Happy Reading, and enjoy it, Don't forget to leave comments!!! :))

I enjoyed this book, the characters were well written.
I felt sorry for the main character Allie as she ended up in a situation that was not nice. Levi should have known better and I am not sure I like him.
Am undecided as to whether I will read the rest of this series.
If you like book which have paranormal characters, human characters and romance then this could be for you.

This book started off very cute! Two girls, Ali and Jess, visit New Orleans for the summer but it quickly turned into a story about a creepy paranormal being staking Ali. None of the characters were likable unless you like men who lie, follow you around, and do the opposite of everything you say. Ali was supposed to be strong and independent and the way she just lets Levi control her is sick. And there was nothing at all attractive about Levi, and don’t even get me started on how this book just ends in the middle of a party without answering any questions!
I still cannot decide if I want to give the book 3.5 or 4 stars. Let it be noted I finished this in about 24 hours. The beginning was a little blah, but not a bad blah. I kept waiting for something big to happen because it was paranormal, but then I accepted that it was more chick lit with paranormal undertones, and it got better. It was pretty much boy meets girl, girl resists, they finally get together, boy screws it up and now he's on the road to redemption. I have no issues with these kinds of books. They're quick, enjoyable, easy reads. However, I am very interested to learn more about the Pterons because I've never read a book about them. Still cannot decide if I hate or love Levi, but he definitely isn't a book boyfriend. I guess I can see why he did what he did, but it is totally not okay. However, I adore Hailey (of course) , Owen and even moody Jared. With all this being said I think I am going to start the second book right now.
Decent young adult/teen book. I think the characters could use a bit more development, they are a bit shallow. I’ll read the rest of the trilogy because you don’t really get to the paranormal stuff until most of the way through the book.
Have you ever finished a book, not because it was particularly good, but because it was so much of a train wreck, you couldn’t put it down?
Well, this one was definitely one of those books.
It has it all.
A protagonist who “isn’t like all the other girls.” She doesn’t sleep around and is so pretty but doesn’t know it and is a good, responsible person. And who is so smart... yet so incredibly dumb.
The super hawt jerk that’s actually a “nice guy” - with a manipulative persona that SHOULD set off warning bells for the protagonist, but doesn’t.
The best friend who is boy crazy and says things that make you wonder why her and the protagonist are actually friends, and ends up having no actual role in the story and no character arc at all.
The absentee parents who only show up every once in a while to cause problems with the protagonist and the guy.
And not to mention the people around the hawt guy who are loyal to him, and who accept whatever messed up, manipulative, and jerky thing the hawt guy does to our supposed-to-be smart and responsible protagonist, and who don’t understand why she just wouldn’t want to be with him 4 evah....
DESPITE THE FACT THAT SHE IS TRICKED INTO BEING WITH A FUCKING GUY SHE JUST MET FOR ACTUALLY EVER UNLESS SHE GETS MURDERED, AND HAS TO MOVE AWAY FROM HOME AND CAN’T GO BACK AND IS EXPECTED TO SWITCH SCHOOLS AND PROVIDE AN HEIR AND JUST BE A-OKAY.
But I mean, he’s a prince and so hawt so.
I am giving this book 2 stars instead of 1 because at least the protagonist does recognize at the end that what hawt guy did was extremely messed up.

Wow. I did not like this. It was a quick read, but it was not an easy read and I should have just put it down.
I kept waiting for something believable to happen. I know that sounds weird to say about a paranormal/fantasy novel. But, I couldn't connect with anything....so I couldn't believe in any of the characters enough to care about them.
Since I couldn't connect with the characters, I spent most of the book wondering how an 18 year old kept easily ordering booze. NO ONE got carded and it distracted me every. damn. time.
Because a New Orleans that magically serves drinks to anyone who asks was more interesting to me than anything else going on......

I loved this book! and Levi.... until he tricked her into a creepy marriage. What a douche-lord! and he didn't even give a useful apology and I'm sure he's not even sorry he did it!
I've seen Flight occasionally and at first I didn't really pay attention to it but then one day I actually stopped and read the description and realized that it actually sounds really good. Plus, I haven't read a Paranormal New Adult before so I was curious to see how it would play out.
I don't really understand why this book is considered New Adult. I mean the characters are in college but there really wasn't any sexual content. I'm not trying to sound like some kind of perv but I was kind of disappointed about the lack of romance. I don't know about you but one of the things I love about New Adult besides that the characters are older is that the romance is a bit steamier. There was underage drinking so I guess that's why they put it in that category but that's pretty much it.
At first I didn't really like Levi because he was so arrogant and obviously thought he was like the second coming or something. But then once he realized that acting like that isn't going to get Allie to like him he showed his true colors. He's actually really sweet and despite the fact that I hated that he acted like he was a big shot, in reality he kind of is. I don't want to give any spoilers about what kind of paranormal creatures dealt in this book but let's just say that I've never read any book about this kind of creature. And it was really cool and refreshing to read something totally new.
Allie has sworn off guys and has no plans of changing that even if Levi is incredibly sexy and gets her blood pumping. I really liked Allie and I liked how she didn't act like some clingy girlfriend whose whole life revolved around some guy. In fact Levi was the one that showed way more feelings and emotions for her and I liked that she brought his ego down. Allie obviously returns the same feelings for Levi but I liked that she was stuck on making this a summer fling only. It's not that I didn't want them to be together after the summer but I just liked that it took a different turn then how books usually do it. Everyone knows when a book talks about a summer fling you're automatically assuming they're going to get together even after the summer but I liked that with Flight I honestly didn't know what to expect.
By the end of the book so much has changed that I don't even know what to think of some of the characters. People make mistakes, hearts are broken and everything is left up in the air. I definitely think everyone should give this book a chance, especially if you're looking for something different and fun.
