I loved this book! Kaz & Inej’s complicated feelings for eachother are just so relatable! And Jan Van Eck is just a perfect villain! You have to hate him, and how he can treat his son that way makes me want revenge on him too. This book just keeps you invested in the characters stories, and their want for revenge and payback, and you just spend the whole book waiting to see how they get it!
Spoilerbut I can’t believe they killed Matthias!!! Matthias & Nina we’re my favorite! Enemies to lovers, and their hopes to make the world a better place like Nina did with Matthias! I can’t believe they didn’t get their happy ending!!! No one was supposed to die! 😭

No Mourners, No Funerals. 🖤🖤🖤

I cannot fathom the brain power it took to come up with every twist and turn and exactly-thought-out schemes in this duology.

Just when you think you have a grasp on the plans and what’s happening, it’s cleverly revealed to be something else all along.

10/10. I loved this book so much. Definitely my favorite Leigh Bardugo book that I've read so far. I laughed, I cried (especially at the end), and I gasped. I love found family books, especially fantasy ones so this was definitely up my alley. Since I'm such an avid reader, I don't usually get surprised by plot points but I loved that with this book, I never knew where it was going next. Wylan, Jesper, Nina, Matthias, Kaz, and Inej will have my heart forever.

Though slow to start, I really enjoyed the sequel to Six of Crows. I loved getting to know the characters’ backstories even more and the twists and turns of the schemes. Losing a character was tough, but death enhances plot…
But I’m happy that other characters found happiness and purpose in the end.

If I could rate it any higher, I would.

Crooked Kingdom is a phenomenal sequel to Six of Crows, leaving the reader antsy and waiting, on the edge of their seat with every new twist and turn. Every revealed detail, paid off foreshadowing, character interaction, and planned event leaves you in a new bout of stunned silence as you listen, tense and wanting to know more.

Each character is unique, and fleshed out, meaning every chapter (each written from a different perspective) leaves you excited to learn more about that individual, and has its own personal bit of characterized flair that makes you excited to turn the page and learn who the next point-of-view is fore-- Matthias, Inej, Wylan? You just have to find out, sleep be damned.

So much weaves together to form a plot where just as one issue is resolved, you remember that ah, that's right, three chapters earlier that other plot point was introduced, and all of a sudden it's coming back-- You can't believe you forgot, but how could you not when the fate of the world was being handled first?!

The end will break your heart, as much as it heals it, giving you as many tears as it does grins as you flip through the ending chapters and realize just how much has been lost...and how much is being rebuilt.
