I had such high hopes after Rowan, so this was a bit of a let down :( So many of plot points were direct copies from Rowan (
tortured then almost dying of fever from infection then being nursed to health by the wanna-be boyfriend? Sorry, Rowan did it better)
And, again, why put the Fae stuff in there at all if it’s going to literally just be one sentence at the very end that has nothing to do with the plot??? 🤷🏻‍♀️ maybe I’m the problem?

Just lost interest. The plot was moving a bit too slow for me. It might’ve been easier if I’d read them as separate books instead of the set. I might come back and try again at some point.

SO good!

Such a good read & highly recommended page turner! I legitimately couldn’t put the book down! I was a little bitter when it ended. Loved it!

Wonderful

This boxset was a ride. Everything that could possible go wrong, went wrong. Admittedly some twists felt wholly unnecessary and like there was so much going on, but I still ended up loving this series. Once I started it, I just couldn't stop. Watching Charlie's character grow, as well as the cast around her, was so gratifying as a reader. I loved the Scottish touches while still obviously being set in a fantasy land. It truly was a captivating box set, and I would 100% recommend to other readers.

The first two books were okay, but the last two weren't great. The 3rd book I really disliked and although the last book was better, I was still very bored and ready for it to be over.

Not sure I get the hype on this book series. Book 1 was so bad I almost put this series down. The writing is all over the place and needs a better editor. This whole series was telling instead of showing. I couldn’t wait for the main character to develop, instead it was her but marginally better.
