***I received an ARC from Netgalley for an honest review***
I thought this book had more potential, especially in the way of becoming a counting book.

Would not work well for a large group read aloud, but would great for a one-on-one. The bat is adorable.

Okay, honestly, I got low expectation for this book as the cover not really appealing. I just request it for light read.
And well, it was a light read and also a fun read.
The illustrations very simple but attractive. The story is only about how Bat loves cherries and so sad when missed it. But well...
You got to read it! I believe kids would see it entertaining too

So fun! This pairs really well with [b:Superbat|33917882|Superbat|Matt Carr|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1486859147l/33917882._SX50_.jpg|54883781] for Storytime.

The narrative voice is fun, but I don't love the message. It's good for Bat to learn to be less selfish, but it wasn't okay for the other creatures to steal his cherries and replace them with something else. Just because someone is rude and grumpy doesn't mean their stuff is fair game.

January 2018 - light on story, this would make a good easy reader, actually. Ben was really into it.

Absolutely lovely to read aloud as a family.
