While I enjoyed reading this book the entire time I read it. I must say by the end Margo sucks hardcore. Her adventures and infamy are fascinating through out and the dynamics of the high schoolers are well written but she sucks not as a character but as a person. Also if I ever hear the term honeybunny again, I’ll vomit.

margot is a basic white girl from the suburbs who lives in florida, why are we acting like she’s so mysterious ?

I really enjoyed this story, but perhaps the most entertaining part of the novel is the ending.
I want to talk about the "manic pixie dream girl". This is a very common trope in books and films. In short, a manic pixie dream girl is a female whose only purpose in a story is to come into the life of a male character and turn it upside down, the MPDG is quirky, funny, adventurous and everything the male protagonist wants her to be.
To me, Paper Towns is an attempt at deconstructing this concept. At the end of the book, you see how Margo talks about being a paper girl, which is exactly what a manic pixie dream girl is, a flat character that only serves as a plot device for the development of another character, a McGuffin of sorts.
But, in this particular story, we see how Margo herself admits to being flat, to be made of the expectations others have of her. Throughout the book, you see more of what Quentin's idea of Margo is than what the real Margo is, and he admits to it.
This is the main reason why I like it so much. For the rest, it's interesting, witty, and engaging.
