My new favourite Becky Chambers!

I am obsessed with cozy sci-fi and this novella was perfect for me. It's a character-driven slice of life story, with enough science, adventure, and exploration to keep things interesting. I loved the glimpses we got of life on other planets (three in total) and how unique each new life form was. This had strong found family vibes as well, which is one of my favourite tropes.

I'm definitely now going to revisit the Wayfarers series, which I always meant to continue but haven't gotten around to.

I only wish there were a choose-your-own epilogue. Such a great book, interesting worlds, endearing characters, everything.

After finishing this novella, I now know two things:
1) Becky Chambers is still one of my all-time favourite authors
2) I want to be a glittery version of myself in space

I think it's mind-boggling how Chambers can make you this invested in a story after only 138 pages. When I finished the novella, I desperately wanted to know more! Luckily, we are left on a bit of a cliffhanger...does this mean we could be getting a follow-up novel? *wink wink, nudge nudge*

Basically: I loved it and I need more.

Dang, this book was really cool and deeply moving. I caught myself more than once reading with my hand over my mouth in shock and anticipation and just all the feels.

It’s official, I love Becky Chambers.
