I liked the first one better but this one still really good. I love Jay--such as sweetheart. :)

But, URGH, there's a hit there that Derting might throw in a love triangle with Jay, Violet and a new character, Rafe in the next book. I really hope she goes against the YA grain and does NOT.

Seriously one of my favorite series ever. I was afraid nothing could match up with the first book in this series, but this sequel was just as amazing!

Desires of the Dead was just as good as The Body Finder! It was everything I had hoped it would be and more!

Desires Of The Dead picks up 3 months after the first book. Jay and Violet are continuing with their relation and all their friends are still along for the ride. A brother and sister pair of new students arrive at their school which seems to be the start of new problems for Violet. Including the FBI seeming to having an interest in her.

I loved this book just as much as the first! Jay and Violets relationship definitely goes through ups and downs and 100% heats up! And I was so happy with their journey in this book! I loved it! And I LOVE Jay <333. Chelsea is hilarious I love her. Also a new character I cannot wait to read more about is Rafe!!! I have a feeling he will be causing some trouble in the future Mr. Emo eye candy woo woo! :)

Another thing I love about these books is how Derting let's us into the twisted minds of others. Just love the details, the torture, and the feelings in them! I got to admit, the animals parts most certainly make me sad.

Overall I really adored this book! I cannot wait for book three!! This series is so worth the read! :)

Inhaltslos. Es fehlt eben was.

I forgot how cool Violet's ability was. She and Jay are so perfect with each other and I just loved everything. The addition of Mark and his family was so intense. The scene in the woods was crazy, especially with the man committing suicide. Looking forward to the drama that will undoubtedly unfold with Raf in the picture.

Definitely wasn't as good as the first. It was lacking quite a bit, and the only new stuff was finding out about
SpoilerSara and her 'group'
.
The suspense wasn't creepy this time around, and the 'case' was quite obvious to me.
SpoilerJay and Violet's relationship is very odd and I don't know how to feel about it.

As seen on Ed and Em's Reviews!

I loved reading The Body Finder. The plot and characters were so original. I was captivated by the blurb and sucked into an amazing story. It was unlike anything I've ever read before. I mean, a girl who finds murdered bodies - both human and animal? Who could come up with something as creepy and brilliant as that? Kimberly Derting. That's who. After finishing The Body Finder, I couldn't wait to get started on Desires of the Dead.

Also, Kimberly Derting is wonderful. Not only does she write an awesome story, but she is a super nice person. My mother went to a stop on the Dark Days Tour where she met Kimberly, Dan Wells and Jill Hathaway. So not only is Kimberly a cool person, but my mother is, too!

Violet and Jay are wonderful together. There relationship is great, especially for one in their teen years. I really enjoy reading about coupes who had started out best friends. They love each other so much, in many different ways that it makes their love better and more real than any other. Jay is so swoon-worthy. Violet is a great match for him - when she shares what's really going on behind the scenes! Thank goodness Jay really loves her and has the patience to let Violet figure things out for herself.

Violet's family and friends are also pretty awesome. Since Violet's "gift" is kept secret, the only people who know are her family and Jay. I love that Jay has kept this secret for her. Though I wish that she could find other to trust. It must be hard having to hold this part of herself inside. Her friends aren't extremely involved in this book, besides one: Chelsea. Chelsea is such a teenager. I don't mean that as an insult, but really, she is very immature. I can understand why Violet doesn't tell her.

There are a few new characters introduced in this book. Some that will hopefully play a big role in Violet's life further on down the road. I really loved everyone who was brought into her life. They each had their own role in shaping the woman that Violet is becoming. I can't wait to see what is store for them all next!

There are twists and turns in this book that have you running into walls… And I may mean that literally... Ms. Derting really knows how to pull you into a story. There were several jaw-dropping moments in this book! I'm still reeling over what happened. At points in this book, I literally shouted for Violet not to go alone and to look behind her and WHY DIDN'T SHE ASK JAY TO GO LOOK WITH HER!? Oh lordie, that girl really grates on my nerves when she does reckless things! I swear, she'll give me a heart attack one day!

Shhh… shhh… let me just swoon over Jay a little more.

This book is a fast read, even though it's over three-hundred and fifty pages. Once I got into the book, I wasn't unable to stop reading it! Violet's voice is just wonderful. She is so intuitive! Her voice and story kept me on the edge of my seat for the entire book.

The covers for this series are gorgeous. Eye-catching and seriously beautiful. And while the books aren't about flowers, the haunting beauty of the flowers and darkness on the covers really work for the books. AND THEY ALL MATCH. Oh boy, did that ever make me happy. I love matchy covers!

This book was awesome! I loved it and recommend the entire series for everyone. ONTO THE NEXT BOOK! WOO!

Desires of the Dead picks up not long after the events of book one. Violet is under pressure in her relationship with Jay, and there are some new characters who are causing friction. The teen angst continues, though it takes something of a back seat to the key plot.
The main focus of the story is Violet's shifting view of her gift. Having wanted to keep it quiet, she finds herself in an unusual situation of realising that there are others like her. Could her gift be a force for good? Something that can actually help people?
For the majority of the story Violet is victim to some pretty obsessive behaviour. We sense it will involve the younger sister of Jay's new best friend, but the twist involving this family came rather out of the blue for the characters concerned (though you could put the pieces together quite easily).
Violet remains a character who puts herself in difficult situations, and who isn't quite ready to recognise her part in the way these situations unfold. The series is probably not the kind of thing I'd rave about but it's an entertaining idea, and I am curious to see how Violet's attitude to her skill develops.

Not as thrilling as the first one, but still very fun to read. I think this is the first teen book I've ever read with a reasonably mature romantic relationship, i.e. very little of the indecision, refusal to communicate, and obsession with "bad boy" jerks or the "mysterious new kid" that usually infuriates me in the genera. Not that those devices aren't seen in adult books as well (and are equally annoying there, as far as I'm concerned), but it's nice to see that teens especially have a decent role-model for a change. And really, I picked this up looking for awesome supernatural crime fighting, not a soap opera :).
