I liked Nash and Maddie's story. I like how Maddie and Nash have people to talk to work out their feelings and sort themselves out. The suspense portion keeps things interesting. I enjoyed how Nash and Maddie communicated. There isn't a third-act breakup.

Read this through in one sitting because this is a story that hit so close to home for me.

Cowles shows again that she knows how to write three-dimensional victims of abuse because yes, most of the time we seem just like any other person but we're also really fucked up 🥴

Nash and Maddie are so perfect for each other and even though it's taken them literal decades to finally admit their feelings, you can tell how they've always been the other's nr.1, even when they were "just" friends.

Definitely a new comfort book 🫶🏻

This was a good listen. Maddie and Nash were best friends as kids and had kind of lost touch when Maddie moved away with her fiancé. Now she's back, running away from her abusive ex. It gives Maddie and Nash a chance to act on the feelings they have always had for each other. I liked how Cowles's portrayed Maddie's struggles and how supportive Nash was. The suspense plot was pretty good, too.

This was another intense and emotional book that fit perfectly with the first book in this series. There was a lot of suspense and the mutual pining was pretty intense. Nash and Maddie were not a perfect couple, but they were perfect for each other.

I loved that Nash and Maddie had been friends since the moment they met in kindergarten. And while Nash was protective of Maddie, I loved that their friendship started with Maddie protecting Nash. I was routing for them from the start and there were definitely times when I just couldn’t wait for them to be honest about their feelings! Nash and his misplaced guilt and the way he felt so torn between keeping himself in check or finally just giving in. Maddie and her fear of rejection and losing the only person who’s ever been there for her, no matter what. It definitely created some tension.

There was so much swirling around Nash and Maddie. An abusive ex, an abusive father, and a stalker. The suspense was intense and there were definitely some emotional moments that were the result of their situation. I loved Nash’s love for Maddie, even when he was holding back, he just couldn’t leave her to fight alone. I also loved Maddie’s determination to get her life back and her love for Nash despite everything she’d been through.

I love the bond between the Hartley brothers. They are all so protective, of each other, their town, and anyone who is in their lives. I loved both Holt and Nash’s journey back to where they belong, and I can’t wait for Lawson and Ronan, but I’m definitely excited to see Grae get her story next!

This follows Maddie and Nash. Maddie runs back to her hometown to hide from her abusive ex and rebuild her life. Nash and Maddie have been best friends since childhood and he would do anything to protect her. Now Maddie has returned, old wounds are bought up and the love they have for each other can they resist for long.

I enjoyed this story and I love how you feel all the emotions the characters were feeling. The plot was great and love all the characters.
The only few things I need to mention is Nash in the first book was quite funny and lighthearted. I was hoping it would show in this book but it was more serious. Also, there is one incident that is a big deal in this book that is very similar to a scene in the first book. My heart wasn't pounding in this book like it did in Whispers Of You. But I still really enjoyed this read!
