This is a fascinating and well written book over many creatives and how they did their respective work in bitesize chapters. I've always been curious about creative's how's and why's, so reading about how these brilliant minds lived and created really caught me. It brings them to life as people. I was also surprised that I had never known that Fitzgerald wrote This Side of Paradise in Leavenworth, KS... I love it.

so interesting. mind-blowing to see & think of what went into creating some great works of art that are now ubiquitous. fascinating to see the similarities, and differences. in general : insomnia, your substance of choice, long daily walks, and various magnitudes of single-minded devotion/obsession about getting the work done. loved this read.

I have finally cracked the secret to becoming a creative genius -
* Take amphetamines whenever you want to be in an "artistic zone"
* Smoke no less than 50 cigarettes a day
* Take Valium to help you sleep for a couple of hours
* Die in your 30's and be remembered ever after
Hurray to me!

Interesting, but would’ve been better if every so often she wrote a chapter and drew parallels between the artistÂ

It was an interesting book, although I think you can get a lot of the same kind of stuff from the blog (although I haven't checked the blog out yet).
