I received a free copy from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I overall quite enjoyed the poems in this collection, but most of them didn't speak to me personally on a deeper level. A lot of the poetry I've read and loved affected me emotionally, which only a few of the poems in this collection were able to do, but I still enjoyed the ones that didn't affect me as much.

Blog | Twitter | Instagram | A copy of this novel was provided through NetGalley by the publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not effect my opinions in any way.

The first thing that strikes me about this collection of poetry is that there's a great glimpse of soul in the works. I had a bit of a problem tying the collection together (it flowed, at times, incoherently and I wasn't connecting with specific parts of it) but Everything Reminds You of Something Else is still a damn good release. As far as introductions to a poet go, I really enjoyed getting to know her--there were, as I said, some rough patches for me personally, but when it was good it was bloody brilliant. I only wish that the collection had been longer; it would have, in my opinion, smoothed out some of the less than stellar parts had it been expanded.

You may be thinking: "It's only 90 pages and the average rating is sitting at a solid three stars--is it worth it?" For me, it was worth it. When the poems were on fire, they made the kinks less irritating. I liked the nature aspects of it--we relate our words back to something else that feels familiar. Wolff weaves through the heart of things on several occasions and we really get to know people through their poems; this is no different.

I'm not really the biggest fan of this collection. To me, there wasn't much that linked them together as a collection and half of the poems made no sense. The writing also wasn't my style. There were a couple poems that stood out to me, but the rest are forgettable. Maybe someone else would enjoy it more, but I personally didn't.

Everything Reminds You of Something Else is a collection of poetry that focuses on relationships, how we view them, the connections between people and how our experiences can change the light in which we view our relationships. I found this a quick and interesting read.

This felt like just the thing to choose for a slow Saturday morning, but sadly, nothing stood out to me. The poems in this collection felt like much of a muchness, and there was nothing which would cause me to recommend it to others.

3 stars - this digital ARC was given to me by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I've wanted to get into poetry for a while, and I did enjoy this. 'Meridian' was a lovely poem for me - I tend to veer towards the poems which tell a story - if there's complicated words and syntax, then it's most likely not for me. Quite a lot of poems were unfortunately written that way, but that doesn't mean they were bad. For the most part, I could understand them and pick out the key details to make an interesting story. I just wish that they were a lot easier to relate to - very few were relatable for me, but that doesn't mean other people will dislike them because I definitely didn't dislike them. I just didn't connect with them as well as I thought I would.
