This book is the culmination of the story and it really does not disappoint. We get all of the answers that we were looking for, along with new twists and turns that we were not looking for.

I have been looking forward to Janie's story since i first started the series and it really packs in all the action and all the feels that the previous books have and more.

Janie has been in all the books and we have watched as she has grown up and become of age and shown a great strength of character and determination to not only see her fate through, but to help her family and to see the war other with a happy ending.

Her Janie finally meets Zane, the boy from her dreams and she gets to meet Kalin again in the flesh. Janie and Zane have the connection right from the go and we just know that they are meant to be together and the meeting is a pure shock to Janie and their coming together is explosive too.

I loved the triangle and the way that Suri is finally killed, i certainly did not see that happening, i also loved how Janie gains a bigger family and that we get more than one epilogue with an idea that more books could come with Hope and other new members.

I look forward to seeing what happens with the others at some point and will be looking at reading the spin off series with the Realm Enforcers books. They too look like they will be a guaranteed awesome read.

MARKED is a brilliant, gut-wrenching, touching, fulfilling, and surprising ending to a fantastic series.

Janie has been meeting with Zane in her dream world since she was 5 years old. Now 25, she finally comes face to face with him at peace talks. And discovers that he is half demon, and aligned with the demons. The demons are the mortal enemies of the vampires, Janie's adopted family.

When Janie is in danger, Zane kidnaps her to keep her safe. In doing so, he becomes a traitor to his own people and risks being killed by Janie's worried, livid family. Especially when they find out that Zane and Janie have mated. Emma and Cara's reaction to this is hilarious and priceless.

The enemy Kurjan's Virus-27 becomes airborne, causing widespread illness. The "cure" turns out to have deadly consequences.

You'll find yourself thinking again and again, "How will they survive this?"

The love story between "Janie Belle" and Zane is beautiful. Janie discovers that she doesn't really know Zane. He's a battle-hardened killer. But then she sees what's at his very core...

Zane is oh-so-sexy. Especially when he lowers his voice to demon levels.

Kalin, a Kurjan and another "friend" in Janie's dream world, fulfills his destiny. It's not quite what you or he expected. And neither is Janie's.

When I look at the overall story arc, the entire series has been about Janie and Zane. They're the reason the series started with her father, Talen. And it came full circle with Janie and Zane, with Kalin playing a vital role.

The epilogue suits the end of the series and the end of the book perfectly.

And leaves you wanting more.

Gah! So much happened in this book. It had me laughing, crying, smiling, and angry at times. Best book in the series so far. So happy there is a happy ending/beginning. Things sure were dicey there for a bit.

Was... this a romance? I felt like I kind of couldn't tell. It was a lot of paranormal macho male bonding interspersed with mildly BDSM sex scenes. The heroine, Janie, is a human who happens to be "the Chosen One"; ever since she was a kid she's been able to enter the Dreamworld and has two friends there, Kalin and Zane.
SpoilerThey both think they're going to end up with her. Kalin is a Kurjan, whatever the heck that is, and Zane - spoiler! - is a vampire/demon hybrid. This is actually a bad thing, because vampires are the good guys. (They are also all male and incredibly well-muscled, because of course they are.) Zane is being forced into obedience by his evil uncle, the Demon King, who will have his family killed if he doesn't do what he's told; the Demon King wants Janie dead, while Kalin (who is the Kurjan King) wants Janie "mated" to him, despite the fact that his favorite hobby is "hurting," hunting, and murdering women.
Zane kidnaps Janie For Her Own Good, they oopsies end up in bed together, and oopsies end up mated. We then get into a whole morass of prophecies, plagues, wars, commando raids, psychic bonds and betrayals. During all of this Zane essentially runs off with various of Janie's and his own friends and relatives and does Manly War Things while Janie stays at home and wrings her hands a lot. (Okay, we're told that she's a doctor, but for obvious reasons Zanetti doesn't want to get too into the doctoring because the whole science is ridiculous. So really she wrings her hands a lot.) Eventually
Spoilershe gets pregnant, and then she's staying at home, wringing her hands, and being pregnant
.

It's all just very silly - we're told that Janie is a kick-ass woman and she smacks people a lot, but she doesn't actually do much, and all the ass-kicking is done by dudes. A lot of paranormal romances are very hero-focused, and this is definitely one of those; more of the book was spent watching the dudes bro-bond and ass-kick than actually developing Janie, her importance, or her relationship with Zane.
