Believe in Me is not your average Teen Mom Story. It is extremely well-written and a fast read! The short chapters, eloquent writing, and heartfelt characters make this a must-read story. Personally, I've always been a fan of short chapters because it makes the book fly by and I could not stop reading this addicting story once I sat down. The protagonist, Judith, was adopted as a young girl by a supportive, loving, and Catholic family after being abandoned by her mother as a baby. She falls in love with a beautiful, blonde, and athletic boy named Kevin who woos her into sleeping with him. However, Kevin's family is unforgiving and completely shuns Judith, while placing the blame entirely on Judith for the pregnancy. Judith's resilience, intellect, and emotional strength make her a role model for all young women. She refuses to be bullied by the father's family and remains steadfast by her resolutions throughout the story. Dickerman-Nelson masterfully tells this wonderful story of a strong young woman who holds onto her beliefs. This is a triumphant book that should absolutely be picked up for the summer! Do yourself a favor people and buy this book, you won't regret it!

I really enjoyed this book. It is an honest account from a teenage mother, who things didn't go perfectly for. The ending left a little to be desired--how did things change, was the father involved further, what else happened? But, the book has to stop somewhere.
