A beautiful book that explores grief and love and one's place in the world through a fantasy lens and situation. Rich, believable, and loveable characters throughout. An excellent story with some great twists and turns with quite a thrilling denouement.

I’m a person who has always had a complicated relationship with death, and I found a kinship in this book. I love the way that it reflected on the subject, acknowledging the great sadness and loss and fear, but also the joy and relief.
