1 hour 9 minutes - I must admit I was expecting more from this book. I feel it could have dived a lot deeper into the issues it discussed, and I disagree with the general consensus that this book explores a myriad of graphically depicted triggering things - at most they were brief mentions. The most interesting part of this book by far was the relationship between the main characters. I thought it was well done to an extent - the reader doesn't really think the relationship is too far out of the ordinary because of the lens it is being viewed from, as the narrator's job has completely skewed any sense of morality to fit the black and white guidelines she is expected to assign content to, day in, day out. However, I feel the book could have done a better job at completing this, as the ending is so abrupt I had to check I wasn't missing pages.

This book I mainly enjoyed because it was short with a pretty cover (hence, satisfying). I didn’t like the love interest at all but at least she  was a bit interesting. The minor plot twist at the end was fun! I would recommend this to someone who wants a quick read to get out of a reading slump. Warning: book has brief mentions of lots of disturbing things.

Talk about bad decisions.

An insightful look at abuse in the digital age.

This is a startling book, and will not be for everyone. However, the things it says about the depravity of the world, abuse, relationships, and PTSD are important. When does an abuser cross the line? How does an abuser convince themselves what they’re doing is ok? Can trauma justify horrible actions? This story takes unreliable narration to another level. It absolutely left me thinking.

Dit boek heeft mij er weer aan herinnerd waarom ik geen Nederlandse literatuur lees.

Ugh! I wanted this book to be so jarring and messed up and it fell so flat.  The premise is super strong and I wish it was more the moderators having to watch the videos and do something about it and less about the characters outside of work.  Like many people, I’m super confused by the ending and how we go there.  I mean, Kayleigh isn’t a good person but the breaking and entering thing seems random and out of character.  I’m rating this low bc I’m disappointed that it’s not what I thought it would be
