Oh lord, the writing is still ridiculous but I could not put this book down. I need the next one, like, immediately.

Segundo libro, esta vez enfocado en Rhage. Hollywood baby!

I am not halfway through the book, but I had to write down some thoughts:

I could see the problematic relationship in the first book, where the relationship starts with Wrath breaking into Beth's house. However, I could tolerate it due to the book's pacing and how the book was an easy read. It was a safe read: you knew how it would end.
In this book, I expected a better start to the relationship or a more healthy relationship. Alas, "no" does not seem to mean "no." But this is no problem apparently since the lust of the "female" takes over, which makes crossing and entering someone's set boundaries okay?

Moreover, people in these books are very superficially described. Looks, smell, and a supernatural connection seem to matter more than people's personalities and behavior.

Having just read the part where Mary describes herself and constantly compares herself to other females, I kind of hate the fact that women who do not fulfill the image of the big boobs and big butt don't feel beautiful themselves. Even Rhage, with Mary not fulfilling the stereotypical beauty of (Ward's) society, is more focused on Mary's voice than her body. Even though the author loves to focus on "attractive" bodies. Given that everyone has their own type, who they find attractive, why can't Mary be found attractive?
And with Mary's self-image being so bad, I kind of don't want her to be in a relationship (one of the reasons). After all, I want her to love herself and have some self-worth before she starts dating someone. (Preferably someone who listens to her boundaries and who does not show up creepily in the middle of the night.) Otherwise, her self-worth (mostly) depends on what males think of her.

"Besides, even if she wasn't his fate, this human female was extraordinary...something special. Something he had to have" (p.67) -> She is a "someone," not a "something" and I sincerely hope that this is part of the character growth in the book and not a way of thinking that stays the same.

I will continue to read it, but I am already giving it one star. This time I am putting the red flags above the author's pacing and it being an easy read.

I finished it.
