I really did not like this book. I found Raina to be incredibly annoying, selfish and just overall immature.

SpoilerWell...I’m super glad that she didn’t end up with Dev. I was worried she would when they kept bringing him up. Regardless, it did take 60+% of the book for her to finally move on from him, and I just got really annoyed/sick of it after a while. I also didn’t like how long she kept the lie up that she was a lesbian. It really irked me. I think I would’ve liked this more if the time spent on those two things had been reduced, and if we had gotten more of Raina and Asher together.

I was just an unsuspecting lesbian going into this book thinking it was a cute desi romcom set in Toronto but BOY was I wrong. There is no rom and there is no com. The whole plot of this book is the mc lying about being a lesbian to her conservative Indian community .

Is this a work of literary genius? Definitely not.

Is this an easy, fun book to read while recovering from a nasty cold, cuddled up in bed? Definitely YES!

I simply picked up this book because as a 30-year-old desi girl facing the endless question of when am I getting married from all the aunties in the world, I could relate to the main character and her dilemma.
