I started reading this book before I knew there was another before it. So I read the other one first. I enjoyed the full story. The storyline is gripping and difficult to put down

This was an enjoyable book filled with lots of emotion and difficult moments. The plot was a little far-fetched in a borderline soap opera kind of way and the ending was a little too neat. That said, I liked the characters and character development during the course of this story. I also liked that none of the characters were perfect, all were flawed in their own ways and that made them more human and more relatable.

I really enjoyed Before the Storm, but this one left me lacking a little. Keith was a jerk in the first one, and in this one as well. While I hated everything he'd gone through, I never felt as though he grew from it all that much. I don't know, maybe it was just me. Most of the "secrets" in this story were things we already knew from Before The Storm, with the exception of Sam. Of course there was Jen's storyline, and that did throw me a little, and I liked that. Overall, not bad. Solid piece of fiction. Just not as good as the first one.

This is the follow up book to Before The Storm, although I preferred the first offering it was still an excellent read and an exciting ending.

The review
I very much enjoyed reading this book. It is easy to get connected to the story and characters. The book is written from different point of views and even though I am usually not a bit supporter of this the author managed it very well. Where I usually find it hard to connect to characters when I jump from one head to the other I only had a problem with Andy at the beginning.
The story is very emotional. I do have doubts about the load of things happening to the people in the book. It was on the edge of being to much and even as bad things usually come together there needs to be a sense of reality to it. Despite all the bad things happening in the book there was a sense of positivity in there too.
I will give this book four stars. Though it was a book I could hardly put down when I picked it up and the story was very engaging I had no problem leaving it down when it was down.

This is a sequel to Before the Storm, which I didn't know when I picked it up. I think I read the first book a few years ago. This story was written from different perspectives than that story, but my memory was jarred by this book about the plot of that book. Good characters, touched quite a bit on forgiveness, and was a nice read.

more of a 2.5. (I keep seeing so many comments like this - do we need to petition goodreads for half star ratings?)
