If you love twisted fairytales this one’s for you. I enjoyed the idea of this book even if the writing was basic. I understood who Amy’s character was supposed to be, and enjoyed the fact that she didn’t immediately gain an obsessive love interest.
Graphic: Addiction, Animal cruelty, Body horror, Bullying, Cursing, Gore, Slavery, Violence, Forced institutionalization, and Classism
Moderate: Child abuse, Blood, Abandonment, Colonisation, and Injury/Injury detail
Minor: Car accident and Pregnancy

I wasn't sure about this book at first, but it definitely picked up along the way. I loved the twist on a famous story. It's definitely a dark retelling with a fair share of gore and mild torture, so beware. I'm so intrigued by where this series is headed and will for sure be moving on to the next installment soon. I do want to note that there is a bit of cussing and gore, so I don't plan on recommending this to just any YA reader.

(I had a childhood hyper fixation on The Wizard of Oz so this book did fill my heart a little bit not gonna lie)
I liked the first book but DNF the series. I got bored after book two.
