Not bad. I'd give it 2.5 if GoodReads allowed half stars. This particular story arc wasn't anything to interesting, but it showed potential.

Booster Gold pretty much ruins everything he touches and the camaraderie between him and Batman is absolutely annoying. But, if you like Guy Gardner, this is a decent story for him. And, the team is interesting enough even though I wish Blue Beetle was in this current lineup.

Maybe I'll blame my slight delirium from being ill but I actually enjoyed this despite its problematic qualities (for instance, I love Batman, but did he need to be in here lecturing everyone? Not to mention the somewhat stereotypical "Red" Russian and Lao Tsu-esque Chinese characters). It's a shame JLI "stopped" -- I always did think it had such potential as a series about a group of misfits from around the world. Like Captain Planet!

This felt like the middling arc of an aged, lackluster Justice League International, and not an exciting reboot of a beloved franchise at all.

We have a handful of D-listers that are basically poorly copied versions of the Inhumans, FF, and X-Men, all struggling to get off the ground as a team that was brought together solely for the use of the U.N., but actually just to stroke the spy dude's ego.
Then there's Batman, who is performing the roll of Booster's personal cheerleader. Which, if he's so intent on Booster leading this team, why did Bats tell Steve Trevor that he's worked with the JLI and wants them shut down (in JL: The Villain's Journey I believe)?
Maybe the Last Great Screw Up happens in the second volume. I just don't care enough to see what it is.

This squeaks out the 5 stars for the fresh-take and of course the humor involved. Nothing ultra outstanding involved, but it was an enjoyable book overall.
