true love takes its toll
on souls
who are not used to feeling whole

whatt??

because it's always the way - when you're alone
and feeling like you could jump off the edge of the world,
that's when they find you and tell you they all went through the same
thing.
and it makes you feel special because you feel like of all the people in all
the world, these yearsdead writers wrote whatever it was that made
the blood run in your veins again, just for you.
and you say their names out loud when you walk the city in the middle
of the night, and you feel close to something timeless;
you feel like someone just lay you down on your back and showed you
the sky.

like WHAT???

tiresias - you teach us
what it means: to hold your own..

okay that's it

This collection of poetry is inspired by the tale of the prophet Tiresias. The tale goes like this - he was born and died a man, but he spent several years as a woman. Although, he was blind he was what others couldn’t. These poems simply blew me away. It was so different and crafted so differently from so many other poems that I’ve read. It is one of my favorite poetry books so far.

My only regret is that I'm only discovering Kae Tempest's poetry now. Can't wait to read more of their work ♥

Kae Tempest's poetry always hits. And this one was so cohesive and so interesting, based on Tiresias.

Kae tempest me tient éveillé
