Bizarre story that ramps up at such a slow place, you almost don't notice when the tone has completely shifted in every title to full genre-horror.
Otoh it's such a slow burn that
1. You need an enormous amount of background that's not really included in this huge omnibus
2. After over 400 pages of story we seem to have barely reached the climax, nothing is resolved at all.
The art is beautiful and rule-breaking and rewards a close read (Maddy's dress constantly shifting shape in every panel of her dinner date with Alex?)
I don't understand the cover art, over half of the characters on the omnibus cover are barely in the book. I was really hoping to figure out what Sinister's deal is, but apparently I need to read a lot more to get that.
