This was my first time reading a kill for me kill for you trope and I absolutely loved how the author threw me for a loop, actually several loops.
Meet Amanda and Wendy, two women brought together by grief, who meet in a support group and quickly bond over drinks. Sharing stories of loss and feeling let down by the justice system, they hatch a chilling plan: “kill for me, kill for you,” each providing the other with an unbreakable alibi to stay off the radar.
Then there’s Ruth, a victim of a brutal assault, who is too terrified to leave her hotel room. How does her story intertwine with Amanda and Wendy’s? This part will blow your mind!

So glad @bookrecs_by_celeste convinced me to pick this up sooner rather than later! I kept putting it off because I figured it would be the typical “Strangers on a Train” situation, but it definitely was not. It certainly drew some inspiration, but it was a very unique and twisty take. There were a few times I audibly gasped, and I’m not exaggerating when I say there’s only been two other thriller authors that have been able to illicit that response from me. I will definitely be reading more from Cavanagh after this psychologically torturous ride.

Great thriller. There was the twist, and then the next twist. I really never figured it out all the way until the end and it was tied up neatly enough to be satisfying.
